Today I was thinking what our world would be without the animal shelters, rescues and organizations that help homeless, abused, abandoned, ill and unwanted animals.  It quickly made me realize what a heart of gratitude I have for them as well as the volunteers, fosters, transporters, etc. I thought today I would thank and recognize some of the amazing people that we often overlook and take for granted.  I want to shed light on these people because we often do not think about the hours that goes into helping animals and running rescues.  

To the shelter and rescue workers, volunteers, fosters, transporters and caregivers who work countless hours 365 days a year to care for animals in need this is about you!  These people unselfishly care for animals of all types because they care about their welfare.  It is these people who unselfishly give of their time, energy and heart so animals can survive in humane conditions, be cared for with heartfelt love, became social and adoptable and live long and happy lives. 

Consider being a volunteer at a local shelter or rescue.  Even just a few hours a day, week or month makes a huge difference!  You can walk, pet, brush or bathe a pet.  If you cannot volunteer in a shelter consider helping them by becoming a foster parent.  It will not only make a difference in a pets live but the shelter that is most likely short staffed, underfunded and in need of some help.  Don't want to foster the what about transport?  Can you help save a life by driving pets from one location to another to help them get to another rescue, a breed specific rescue or forever home.  

There is another way you can help too and that is donations.  You may not have funds to help them but you may be able to donate your newspapers, old blankets, bleach, cleaning supplies, food, collars, leashes, etc. 

Volunteering in any way is networking to SAVE LIVES!
