Andy's Paw Prints was created out of a love for animals in need. We transform your pet picture into a one of a kind keepsake. The first step in the process is to submit your order to us at www.AndysPawPrints.com/Order-Form.html with your photos of your pet and we will choose one to transform into a special keepsake. Once the custom keepsake artwork is finished we will email you a link to your own personal gallery where you will be able to order your print. Once you make your purchase the print will be shipped directly to you and we will donate 25% of the profit from your purchase to help animal welfare organizations that partner with us.

Do you know a shelter, rescue or animal welfare organization in need? Let us know and we will be glad to reach out to them. Our mission is to create custom keepsake portraits so we can donate and help as many animals in need as possible. We extend an invitation to partner with animal welfare organizations regardless of their size, location or non-profit status. We understand that there are many organizations that work very hard to help animals but cannot afford to become a non-profit.

We want to take a moment and thank everyone for making March a wonderful Anniversary Celebration. We exceeded our milestone goal of 20,000 Facebook likes and grew 721 new likes in March! Next goal is 25,000 likes by the end of July. Can you help us get there?

We gave away a total of five Gift Certificates for a FREE 8x10 Colored Pencil Drawing each week to the partners with the most votes.

Dogs are not a dime

My dog Shadow died yesterday. It has been heartbreaking to say the least. I was thinking today why is it we get so attached to our pets? It got me to thinking about my son's death as well and how painful it is to go through each day without him. It hit me as I sat there watching our other dogs play why it is we feel such grief, a grief some may not understand, when we lose a pet.

If you had a handful of dimes and you lost one on your way back to the car from the store you may not even stop to pick it up. It's just a dime. However if that dime was an 1897 dime, you would be heartbroken and you wouldn't stop until you found it. Why? Because an 1897 dime is one of the rarest dimes there is. And that's when it hit me why it's so painful to lose a pet, or person for that matter. They are unique! Life creates uniqueness. The more unique something is the more pain we feel when we loose it. Not because of it's monetary value, but because of the fact of its uniqueness. There will never be another Shadow. Someone that has never owned a dog may think, "why doesn't he just get another black Schnauzer? They're a dime a dozen." But the fact is there isn't another Shadow and never will be. Shadow was unique and I will never have another companion like her. And it is that fact that hurts the most. The more unique our pets are the more pain there is when we lose them. Dogs are not dimes.

Rest in peace precious girl. You are loved beyond measure. You brought us tremendous love and happiness and you will forever be missed. Heaven gained a special angel. I hope your body is healed and you are free from heart disease, allergies and illness. We love you precious baby girl. RIP Shadow baby.

We received this message from one of our amazing partners, Chosen 2 Serve Inc., and wanted to share it with you as well as take a moment to share our message with you.

When we created Andy's Paw Prints we were on a mission to do everything we could for animals. Initially we thought that meant homeless, abused and neglected animals. However we soon realized there were needs not only with rescues and shelters, but with transports, fosters and animal welfare organizations to name a few.

Late last year we were approached with a request to help raise funds to train service dogs to make the lives of disabled people more independent. We jumped at the chance to help.

When we make a plea to share our posts it's not just so we can grow our page numbers, it's so we can make new connections. This means we have new opportunities to create custom portraits and make more donations back to help our partners and their amazing organizations. We are a small business. Our business consists of myself, Sherry, my husband Tim, who is the artist, and Sherrie our amazing social media helper.

To keep prices down and donations up we need you as well. With every share of one of Andy's Paw Prints posts you help others in ways you may never have expected. Our heart's will always be with mistreated animals, but when we can partner that up to help people as well, it is a win win.

One year ago we started Andy's Paw Prints with a few things in mind. We wanted to name the business after our rescue Andy. So Andy's Paw Prints was born for the following reasons.

#1 To create custom pet portraits for people at a price that most people could afford. Why? Because 5 years ago my beloved pet passed away and I contacted an artist to render a portrait of her. Unfortunately the portrait started at $1200 and there way no way I could afford it. It made the hurt over the loss of my pet even more painful but there was nothing I could do but accept it.

#2 To donate a portion of our profits from every purchase to help animals in need. Why? Because I know their needs are excessive and every dollar makes a difference. We wanted to do something to help.

One year ago we had one shelter that we were partnering with and today we are partnering with more than 130 shelters! We knew we could not give to the shelters as much as we wanted so creating Andy's Paw Prints brought our love for animals and art together in one and allowed us to create special keepsakes for people and help animals in need at the same time. Such a win, win for everyone!

We both work other jobs but share a love for animals and art. We hope that our love of creating custom pet keepsakes and helping animals in need continues to grow so we can continue our mission to help more and more animals. Tim and I invest a lot of time and effort in the fine details of what we do to make every portrait special.

We accept any and all shelters, rescues and animal organizations that want to partner with us. We accept both US and International partners.

As part of our anniversary celebration the top 10 shelter / rescue partners with the most paid orders from March 1 to March 30, 2015 will receive 30% of our profit on donations to their shelter.

Bring Hanah Home missing since the Joplin Tornado

May 22 is quickly approaching. Some might wonder what significance this date is. For me it is the day the Joplin tornado changed the lives of so many. One person in particular is someone who lost her dog that day. It was swept from her arms while she desperately tried to protect herself and pets all which the tornado hit her home. I did not know Kari at the time but it was not far from my home and I wanted to do everything I could to help her try to find her dog.

Her dog Hanah was lost the day of the tornado. She was spotted and photographed by someone who attempted to help her. The next day 5/23 when the tornado sirens blared again Hanah ran and has not been found.

We had so many volunteers, rescues and spectators in town during this dreadful time. It is not known who may have lovingly picked her up to help her on the second day when she ran but she was seen being put in a black suv. But it is well known that she is greatly missed by her family who wants her back.

She has a hazel eye and a blue eye. She is beautiful and would be easy to notice with her eyes being different colored. Even if you 'think" you know where she is but are not sure please contact the information below. It has been 3 long years of her missing her family and her family missing her.

The first step in the process is to Email us three pictures of your pet and we will choose one to transform into a work of art. Once the artwork is finished we will email you a link to your own personal gallery were you will be able to order your print. Once you make your purchase the print will be shipped directly to you and we will donate a portion of the payment to help shelters and rescues with homeless animals.

How to place an order for a custom pet portrait from Andy's Paw Prints

Do you want to order a custom pet portrait for yourself, a loved one, friend or a co-worker? Our portraits make special keepsakes and memorials of our beloved pets.

Email us three good face images to [email protected] and let us make sure we can work with the images you provide. If we determine we can work with the images we will email you a link to pay your $20.00 per pet non-refundable deposit. Our images are not paintings but are artistic pop-artwork portraits.

Once we receive the deposit we will create your custom portrait(s) and will email you a link when we are done so you can view and purchase your portrait(s). The non-refundable deposit will be applied towards your purchase.

Please provide the pets name so we can create the file but make sure to tell us if you do not want the name on the portrait. Only one pet per image and we cannot create people in images.

The best images for us to use to create custom art work are ones where the pet is looking towards the camera. Their eyes are the heart and soul of your image. Images of pets with toys in their mouth, wet, and sleeping usually do not translate well in the art.

Today I was thinking what our world would be without the animal shelters, rescues and organizations that help homeless, abused, abandoned, ill and unwanted animals. It quickly made me realize what a heart of gratitude I have for them as well as the volunteers, fosters, transporters, etc. I thought today I would thank and recognize some of the amazing people that we often overlook and take for granted. I want to shed light on these people because we often do not think about the hours that goes into helping animals and running rescues.

To the shelter and rescue workers, volunteers, fosters, transporters and caregivers who work countless hours 365 days a year to care for animals in need this is about you! These people unselfishly care for animals of all types because they care about their welfare. It is these people who unselfishly give of their time, energy and heart so animals can survive in humane conditions, be cared for with heartfelt love, became social and adoptable and live long and happy lives.

Consider being a volunteer at a local shelter or rescue. Even just a few hours a day, week or month makes a huge difference! You can walk, pet, brush or bathe a pet. If you cannot volunteer in a shelter consider helping them by becoming a foster parent. It will not only make a difference in a pets live but the shelter that is most likely short staffed, underfunded and in need of some help. Don't want to foster the what about transport? Can you help save a life by driving pets from one location to another to help them get to another rescue, a breed specific rescue or forever home.

There is another way you can help too and that is donations. You may not have funds to help them but you may be able to donate your newspapers, old blankets, bleach, cleaning supplies, food, collars, leashes, etc.

Volunteering in any way is networking to SAVE LIVES!

Protecting animals in cold weather

This is meant to be a helpful guide to caring for animals in cold temperatures. Cold weather may worsen or weaken a pets immune system or some medical conditions such as arthritis. Your pet should be examined by a veterinarian at least yearly.

Be aware of your pet’s tolerance for cold weather and adjust accordingly. Arthritic and elderly pets may have more difficulty walking on snow and ice and may be more prone to slipping and falling. Long-haired or thick-coated dogs tend to be more cold-tolerant, but are still at risk in cold weather. Short-haired pets feel the cold faster because they have less protection, and short-legged pets may become cold faster because their bellies and bodies are more likely to come into contact with snow-covered ground. Pets with diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, or hormonal imbalances (such as Cushing’s disease) may have a harder time regulating their body temperature, and may be more susceptible to problems from temperature extremes. The same goes for very young and very old pets. If you need help determining your pet’s temperature limits, consult your veterinarian.

Animals should be kept inside during cold weather if possible. Like people, cats and dogs are susceptible to frostbite and hypothermia and should be kept inside. Longer-haired and thick-coated dog breeds, such as huskies and other dogs bred for colder climates, are more tolerant of cold weather; but no pet should be left outside for long periods of time in below-freezing weather.

A warm vehicle engine can be an appealing heat source for outdoor and feral cats, but it’s deadly. Check underneath your car, bang on the hood, and honk the horn before starting the engine to encourage feline hitchhikers to abandon their roost under the hood.

Check your dog’s paws frequently for signs of cold-weather injury or damage, such as cracked paw pads or bleeding. During a walk, a sudden lameness may be due to an injury or may be due to ice accumulation between his/her toes. You may be able to reduce the chance of iceball accumulation by clipping the hair between your dog’s toes.

During walks, your dog’s feet, legs and belly may pick up deicers, antifreeze, or other chemicals that could be toxic. When you get back inside, wipe down (or wash) your pet’s feet, legs and belly to remove these chemicals and reduce the risk that your dog will be poisoned after (s)he licks them off of his/her feet or fur.

Many pets become lost in winter because snow and ice can hide recognizable scents that might normally help your pet find his/her way back home. Make sure your pet has a well-fitting collar with up-to-date identification and contact information. A microchip is a more permanent means of identification, but it’s critical that you keep the registration up to date.

Odds are your pet will be spending more time inside during the winter, so it’s a good time to make sure your house is properly pet-proofed. Use space heaters with caution around pets, because they can burn or they can be knocked over, potentially starting a fire. Check your furnace before the cold weather sets in to make sure it’s working efficiently, and install carbon monoxide detectors to keep your entire family safe from harm. If you have a pet bird, make sure its cage is away from drafts.

When walking your dog, stay away from frozen ponds, lakes and other water. You don’t know if the ice will support your dog’s weight, and if your dog breaks through the ice it could be deadly. And if this happens and you instinctively try to save your dog, both of your lives could be in jeopardy.

We don’t recommend keeping any pet outside for long periods of time, but if you are unable to keep your dog inside during cold weather, provide him/her with a warm, solid shelter against wind. Make sure that they have unlimited access to fresh, non-frozen water (by changing the water frequently or using a pet-safe, heated water bowl). The floor of the shelter should be off of the ground (to minimize heat loss into the ground) and the bedding should be thick, dry and changed regularly to provide a warm, dry environment. The door to the shelter should be positioned away from prevailing winds. Space heaters and heat lamps should be avoided because of the risk of burns or fire. Heated pet mats should also be used with caution because they are still capable of causing burns.

If your pet is whining, shivering, seems anxious, slows down or stops moving, seems weak, or starts looking for warm places to burrow, get them back inside quickly because they are showing signs of hypothermia. Frostbite is harder to detect, and may not be fully recognized until a few days after the damage is done. If you suspect your pet has hypothermia or frostbite, consult your veterinarian immediately.

Cold weather also brings the risks of severe winter weather, blizzards and power outages. Prepare a disaster/emergency kit, and include your pet in your plans. Have enough food, water and medicine (including any prescription medications as well as heartworm and flea/tick preventives) on hand to get through at least 5 days.

Keep your pet at a healthy weight throughout the winter. Some pet owners feel that a little extra weight gives their pet some extra protection from cold, but the health risks associated with that extra weight don’t make it worth doing. Watch your pet’s body condition and keep them in the healthy range. Outdoor pets will require more calories in the winter to generate enough body heat and energy to keep them warm – talk to your veterinarian about your pet’s nutritional needs during cold weather.

It is something we are both extremely passionate about. We have 4 dogs that are rescues and love each of them and have always grown up with animals in our families.

Many of you probably do not know that we also have another business called Tim Wemple Photography & Assoc. which operates much in the same way. We donate 25% of the profits from our Fine Art Landscape art work to help organizations that help people. This includes but is not limited to Hospice, Autism, Children's Homes, Military and Veteran organizations, Food Banks, Missions, etc. Our artwork can be purchased as is or can be customized with a saying, date, verse, poem, etc. to remember that special moment or person.

Our artwork makes a great gift for adorning your walls or as a memorial image, graduation, housewarming, retirement, birth or just to say I was thinking of you.

We believe our art work speaks to the heart. It connects a person to a place in time, a memory or reflection and gives them some hope and peace in what they are going through.

In 2011 Tim lost his son to Brain Cancer at the young age of 27. It was a life changing event for us and we knew we wanted to do something to give back and bless others in their times of hardships.

In 2011 our town of Joplin, Missouri was rocked by a catastrophic EF5 tornado killing 161 people and was ranked the 7th deadliest in US History. Our local Humane Society took in more than 1,300 homeless animals after the tornado.

We are not a big company. We are two people who work other jobs but are dedicated to making a difference for things in our lives that are important. We give generously of our time creating time pieces that trigger emotions and give back to help animals and people in need.

Effective Sunday 10/5/2014 Andy's Paw Prints will require a $20.00 non-refundable deposit for each pet portrait requested. We have not required it in the past because we trusted in good faith people actually intended to purchase their orders. We invest a lot of time into creating and expect with each creation we will be able to help animals in need.

We have been hit hard lately with people who never intended to purchase and just wanted to see what their pet would look like. To avoid this from being an issue going forward we are forced to require a deposit with each custom portrait requested. Also with the holiday's fast approaching we want to commit our time and effort on customers who intend to purchase.

Once you submit your deposit ($20.00 per pet submitted) and your 3 pet images we will start creating your custom portrait. When the pet portrait is completed the $20.00 deposit will be applied towards your purchase. If you do not purchase, the $20.00 deposit is not refundable.

We appreciate your commitment and understanding and look forward to creating a custom keepsake for you and helping animals in need.

We are thrilled to announce that we are now partnering with Fine Art America to offer custom pet greeting cards!

If you have purchased a custom pet portrait from Andy's Paw Prints you can now order greeting cards with your pets portrait on them! A single card is $5.95, a package of 10 is only $39.50 and a package of 25 is only $87.50. Packages are all of a single image and cannot be multiple images. (Example you cannot do an assortment / if you had portraits of three dogs and want to purchase a package it would be all of a single pet )

You can personalize cards with up to 500 characters on the inside. Cards will not have a pet name or watermark on them. Only your pet portrait image.

We create custom pet portraits from your favorite pet picture and donate 25% of your purchase to our partners. We only donate to our partners and do not make exceptions. To order your custom pet portrait email us 3 good pictures of your pet to [email protected]. Make sure their face is looking towards the camera and their full head and ears are in the picture. Pictures of the pet laying down do not generally create good pictures. The best are the pet with their head up, ears perked up, eyes opened and looking towards the camera. Most of the time a cell phone picture is usable. Only one pet per portrait. No people in the portrait. Tell us the pets name, where you heard about us and which one of our shelter partners you would like us to donate to. Tips for getting good pet photos for your pet portraits:

Get on your pets level – Get down on your pets level to take your photo, preferable the animals eye level.
Get in close – The best photos for our artwork are photos where the pets face fills the frame. We can crop in close, but if you can fill the frame with your animal it will produce a better photo for us to work with in the long run.
Freeze the motion – One of the hardest things about taking pictures of pets is getting a good sharp image. For your camera to use a faster shutter speed which will freeze the motion you will need to have good bright light to take the photo. Outside is best, but if you have to take it inside make sure you have all the lights turned on. Be careful about using a flash, they can hurt your pets eyes if pointed directly at them and they may scare your pet as well.
Get Someone to Help – Getting your pet to look at the camera can be a difficult task. Asking someone to help you by having them stand behind you with a squeak toy or calling their name can be very helpful getting them to look toward the camera. It can also help with getting your dog to raise its ears. Dog's with ears pinned down to their head can look scared. If you can get their attention and get them to perk their ears up you will have a much better photo.
Take lots of photos – If your camera shoots in burst mode use it to take lots of photos with one push of the button. This can help you with getting a sharper photo, as well as a good pose.
Background – Try keeping as much clutter out of the background of your photo as possible. This will help us keep your pets image from blending in with the background.
No toys – Do not send images with chew toys in the dog's mouth. They may look good for a photograph, but they do not translate well to our portraits.
MOST IMPORTANT – Remember these are not paintings, they are computer generated illustrations. That is not to say the computer does all the work, far from it. The computer is like the canvas, brushes and paint, we still must create the work. There is a lot of hand work that goes into creating each image. Each piece is unique and actually world be almost impossible for us to recreate, just like a painting. However we do not change the position of the pet or modify the original image except for minor clean up and cropping. So what you send us in terms of how the pet is positioned will be how the final artwork looks as well. Having the pets face smashed up against a pillow or laying on the ground will not produce a very good images for us to work with. Remember the photo may not be the best in terms of a photographic image, but they may work the best for giving us a framework on which to build your piece of art.

Remember the quality of the photo you send us in terms of the guidelines above will make all the difference in the final piece of art you get. We do not charge a deposit fee for the work we do, and prefer to keep it that way. But if we have a lot of people sending us poor images they just want to see what we can do with them, and then do not purchase, it costs us money and time that could be going to help the animals. So make sure the images you send us you would be happy with when we have done our work. (It only takes one image to create the artwork, but we ask for three so the artist can make the decision as to which would work best, however if you follow the guidelines above one image should be all we need. We also recognize that many of the pets we work on are no longer with us and it is impossible to take a another photo of them. We will do our best to create something with what you have and we will tell you if we don't think it will work.)

Pet-a-Bulls, Inc. is New Mexico’s all volunteer based “Bully” breed rescue. We carefully select dogs from high kill City and County shelters across the State, ensure that all medical needs, S/N surgeries, vaccinations and microchips are in place and that each and every one of our fur~friends have, at minimum, the basic behavior training to automatically exhibit the skills required to be deemed “Ready-Made” family pets before placement!

Founded and operational since 1998, Pet-A-Bulls, Inc. applied for and received it's 501c3 charitable status in 2010. The Pet-A-Bulls facility itself routinely houses from 12 to 20 dogs with an additional 25+ dogs in temporary foster homes at any given time, depending on their needs. We are striving to increase our current adoption numbers of over 500 dogs a year to over 1000 dogs per year by 2015. As Pet-A-Bulls dogs arrive from a variety of situations and backgrounds, all dogs receive standard medical attention, routine vaccinations, are spayed/neutered and complete at least basic behavior training before being offered for adoption. Many Pet-A-Bulls dogs are provided with Veterinary assistance, followed by supervised medical foster care for serious health conditions to ensure the dog's complete recovery. All pets adopted from Pet-A-Bulls receive a free in home training session from a partner trainer and many go on to complete the training courses required to become Canine Good Citizens and Certified Therapy Dogs.

Now let's talk about reworking your Photo.

When we say we donate 25% of our profit to partnering shelters and rescues, that 25% is calculated from what you pay, minus what it costs us to print it. We do not subtract the artist time to create it or the many hours answering emails. When we create an image for you, and you do not purchase it, that means 100% of our time invested in creating the image and answering emails is wasted. If you need something changed, and it is an easy fix, we are more than glad to do it. It saves us from a total loss and we would much rather you ask, than to just not purchase. But if you want us to completely rework an entire image, or do something that requires a lot of time to fix, like use a different image after we have already worked one up, it really isn't cost effective for us. We want our customers to be happy, and we will up to a point try and change the artwork if you're not happy. But there comes a time when it just isn't cost effective for us to rework an image over and over. We love our customers, but at some point it starts to take away from the time we could be donating to help homeless animals, instead of redoing artwork that may or may not ever meet someones expectations.

We do not ask for a deposit, so when you ask for a print to be created, please make sure you are ready to follow through on your order. If you are just wanting to see what the artwork would look like of your pet and have no intentions of purchasing, just know you are taking away valuable time and money that could go to help homeless animals. We like working on an honor basis and hope we can continue this practice.

Tips for Pet Safety for July 4th Festivities

Andy's Paw Prints is encouraging pet owners to protect their pets this 4th of July. Pets are often afraid of fireworks, so take extra precautions from while fireworks are allowed to be discharged.

The July 4th holiday weekend is a busy time of the year at animal shelters. Fireworks are loud and bright, and our pets are not used to this. Pets can easily get scared and panic or run away trying to escape the noise.

We encourage you to:

• Make sure the animal is wearing proper identification. This includes a collar with a current City tag. Micro-chipping is another good way to protect your pet.

• Don’t leave pets outside to wait for you to return home. Dogs left in backyards often get frightened by fireworks and will climb or jump the tallest of fences. Dogs left on chains can injure themselves trying to get away.

• Don’t take pets with you to a fireworks display. This is frightening for them and they don’t know it’s a celebration. Secure your pets in the house or crate.

• Make sure someone stays with pets if you know fireworks or loud noises upset your pets. Scared dogs go into flight mode from the fear.

If you lose a pet or find a pet during the holiday weekend, contact Animal Control or your local Humane Society.

National Mill Dog Rescue

A story of compassion, dedication and courage

In February 2007, Theresa Strader, a nurse, wife, and mother in Colorado Springs and a fan of Italian Greyhounds, heard about a dog auction in Missouri. When she arrived, they saw a female Italian Greyhound sitting up in the back of a cage in a dark barn. The dog was sitting on her back legs, rubbing her stomach with her front paws. She looked Theresa square in the eyes and asked her for help. Theresa knew that she couldn't leave the auction without #251. ‘Lily’ as Theresa named her, was worn out, with a rotted jaw and mammary tumors along her entire left side. She had been used her whole life as a breeding dog in a puppy mill. Lily was born, raised, and perhaps had 13 litters of puppies before being sold to Theresa for $40.

On that day, Theresa Strader single-handedly started National Mill Dog Rescue, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization incorporated in the state of Colorado, whose mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome discarded breeding dogs and to educate the general public about the cruel realities of the commercial dog breeding industry. The commercial dog breeding industry supplies puppies for sale in pet stores and across the internet.

Under Theresa’s inspirational guidance, National Mill Dog Rescue has rescued more than 8,900 mill dogs from across the United States. These dogs are now living as cherished family members across the United States.

Protecting your pet

Never Leave Your Pet in the Car In nice weather you may be tempted to take your pet with you in the car while you travel or do errands. But during warm weather, the inside of your car can reach 120 degrees in a matter of minutes, even if you're parked in the shade. This can mean real trouble for your companion animals left in the car.

If you do happen to see a pet alone in a car during hot weather, alert the management of the store where the car is parked. If the owner does not return promptly, call local animal control or the police department immediately.

Don't Put Your Pet in the Back of a Truck

It is very dangerous, and in some states illegal, to drive with a dog in the back of a pick-up truck. Not only can flying debris cause serious injury, but a dog may be unintentionally thrown into traffic if the driver suddenly hits the brakes, swerves or is hit by another car. Dogs should ride either in the cab (in a crate or wearing a seat belt harness designed for dogs) or in a secured crate in the bed of the truck.

Watch Out For Fertilizers and Deadly Plants

Plant food, fertilizer and insecticides can be fatal if your pet ingests them. In addition, more than 700 plants can produce physiologically active or toxic substances in sufficient amounts to cause harmful effects in animals.

Stay Bite-Free

With people and dogs spending more time outside, dog bites are likely to increase in the warmer months. Spaying or neutering your dog reduces the likelihood that he will bite and provides many other health benefits.

Pet Care 101

Make sure your pet is always wearing a collar and identification tag. If you are separated from your pet, an ID tag may very well be his or her ticket home.

Check with your veterinarian to see if your pets should be taking heartworm prevention medication. Heartworm disease, which is transmitted by mosquitoes, can be fatal in both dogs and cats. Another warm weather threat is fleas and ticks. Use only flea and tick treatments recommended by your veterinarian. Some over-the-counter flea and tick products can be toxic, even when used according to instructions.

We will gladly help any legitimate shelter or rescue who wants to partner and needs help. What does being an Andy's Paw Prints partner mean? It means the shelter or rescue shares Andy's Paw Prints on their official Facebook page at least once a week. If you want to ad a link on your website to attract more attention that would be great too but not required. Anything to announce the cause is a potential benefit to the shelter. Why? Changes in Facebook Reaches

With the recent changes in Facebook wanting you to pay for boosting your posts through paid advertising our posts are not going far as they did prior to 4/1 when the changes took effect. We need your help. Please like our Andy's Paw Prints Facebook page, please like comments and most importantly share from our page.

We create and we donate. We don't have it in our budget at this time to pay to boost posts. Taking from our donations we give to our shelters and homeless animals will never happen!!! It is not even a consideration or option!!! Our shelters need the money to help their homeless animals and that is why we do what we do. Facebook ads to boost my posts will not take from my shelters!

Our mission is to help homeless animals. We create to donate to shelters and homeless animals NOT Facebook! Please do not get me wrong we are thankful we can use Facebook as a way to promote Andy's Paw Prints and to help shelters and give our followers amazing custom artistic prints of their pets.

What is happening lately with Andy's Paw Prints

This week I sat down and wrote several letters to some pretty big people and shared the story and mission Andy's Paw Prints. My hope is that just one of those people will simply "SHARE" the Andy's Paw Prints message. I know it may be unlikely that any of them will actually share it but I know the answer was an automatic NO if I didn't try. I have never been one afraid to take a challenge or to ask. After all maybe, just maybe the answer will be YES.

In the last two days Tim and I have been brainstorming and planning for the future of Andy's Paw Prints. We have big plans and so far everything seems to be falling into place simply perfect. I cannot wait to see how God is going to grow this and bless it. More importantly I cannot wait to see how many shelters and homeless animals we will be able to bless through our outreach. Every time we create we donate!

We have exciting things coming up!

We have several potential partners seeking Board approval at this time. Soon we may be adding several new partners all at once.

We have room to add more shelters or rescues in need.

We are ordering gift vouches and will have those available very soon.

We just added several new items to our product line that can be customized with your pets artistic image.

We met one of our newest partners today at PetSmart. It was a real pleasure to meet Haven of the Ozarks Animal Sanctuary.

We also met a prospective partner by chance today at PetSmart too! I will be attending the Board Meeting of Faithful Friends Animal Advocates, Inc. this week. It was a great pleasure meeting them as well.

I am attending Yappy Hour this week in Arkansas for Animal League of Washington County, AR

We are signing up to participate with Bark in the Park with the SEK Humane Society in Kansas.

These are just a few of the exciting things we have going on.

I want to give a special thank you to the Joplin Humane Society, Lysa Boston and her amazing staff Connie Borland Andrews and Tianna Fisher as well as Heather Pawluck for their amazing support and friendship. I am always picking their brain or asking them to share something and they graciously help.

It started with a dream and a girl (me) not being afraid to ask and Andy's Paw Prints turned into a reality. I am so thankful for the support and hard work of my husband who allowed me to dream it and helped to make it a reality. I am so thankful that I am a small piece of contributing to shelters in need.

Andy's Paw Prints is very dear and personal to me. I have always loved animals and this gives me a means of being able to contribute and give back to help our shelters which in return helps animals in need.

Please continue to spread the word of Andy's Paw Prints. When you share it reaches and touches people that we might otherwise never get in front of. It does not matter where you are located. We are actually getting ready to do our first order for the UK!

Each time we create a custom print we are donating to help a shelter in need. We cannot donate without orders so I hope you can see how important sharing is to our. I thank each of you for follow our page and for your positive comments and for your shares. Together we can make a difference in the lives of homeless animals and the amazing shelters who are there to care for them in their time of need.

To our partners here a few suggestions you might want to try to help drive some donations your way...

Share information of our partnership by giving our your flier or emailing your flier to the following in your area to increase awareness which could potentially increase donations your way:

Share with your friends, family and connections on Facebook and ask them to share.

Share with your local veterinary clinics ask them to display your flier in their lobby and ask them to share it on Facebook for you.

Share with your local groomers ask them to display your flier and if they have a Facebook page ask them to share it for you.

Share with your local animal boutiques ask them to post your flier at their location.

Share with your local dog trainers and ask them to give our your flier to their classes.

Post your fliers in your shelters or at special events.

These are just some suggestions I have been using that have been working and wanted to share them with everyone. If you have other suggestions please share them so we can pass the information along. Thank you!

We are doing it again! We are looking for 5 more shelters to partner with. What does that mean? It means we create custom prints of Your pet from Your favorite picture and donate to the participating shelter. Do you have anyone within the US that you can recommend to us? If we end up getting more than 5 requests we will not turn down any shelter or rescue who needs help!

What do you have to do to be a partner? Share "our" Facebook page on "your" Facebook page 4 times a month. You can also include us in newsletters or your website to increase potential traffic but this is optional. For each print ordered we ask where the customer heard about us when they say your shelter we give you credit for that sale and donate a portion of the proceeds for each print sold to the participating shelter. It is that simple! You will receive a check monthly for the proceeds.

In return we add a link on our website to your shelter and Facebook page. We will mention you in a blog and we will tweet each month sending people to your website or Facebook page or we will tweet upcoming events you are having. We will try to mix it up.

Volunteering at Animal Shelters

You can make a difference in your community and help homeless animals.

For those of you interested in volunteering at a animal shelter I say go for it. You can make a difference. There are many benefits to volunteering at a shelter. You can be part of the solution.

As a volunteer myself I can safely say there is a job for everyone. By volunteering you make the jobs of everyone there a little easier by giving a helping hand.

The animals will love you. They love and long for the attention. Being walked or loved on means a lot to these pets. You will definitely make a lot of new four-legged friends and you will enjoy happy tails for free!

I am a volunteer at the Joplin Humane Society. I love when I get to help. The staff appreciates you and the animals that get used to seeing you do too.

How do you find out about volunteer opportunities? Go to the shelters website or call the shelter.

This is Henry he has been at the Joplin Humane Society shelter for a while. He is one of my favorite dogs at the shelter. He gets so happy to see you and so happy to go out to the bathroom or go for a walk. I would easily add him to our family if I did not already have 4 dogs. He is so sweet and is such a good dog.

Tim and I were asked to join the Joplin Humane Society at their biggest event Fur Ball. We gladly accepted! Tim and I shared information about Andy's Paw Prints at the event. We were able to meet so many wonderful people that evening who all share our common passion of helping homeless animals!
